Madrid City Council offers all its citizens, as well as those who visit us during the months of July and August, a programme that covers the city’s main cultural spaces and that has room for the most important artistic genres, so that we may all find an artist, a space, a moment that makes us dream during the summer months.
The ‘Veranos de la Villa 2013’ programme at the TEATRO CIRCO PRICE, will include figures such as Diego Cigala, EW&FIRE, Solea Morente, Wynston Marsalis, Ben Howard, Reinaldo Creagh, Zenet, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Esperanza Spalding, the Blues Brothers, Rickie Lee Jones, Fanfarlo, Asier Etxeandía, Carlos Do Carmo, Alex Clare, Concha Buika, Diana Krall, Elvis Costello, Dulce Pontes, Luis Eduardo Aute and Devendra Banhart.
LOS JARDINES DE SABATINI start off on Saturday the 6th of July with the “Concierto de Aranjuez” by the Orchestra of the Community of Madrid (ORCAM). On Sunday the 7th of July, we will have the farewell recital by Paloma San Basilio, a look back over her artistic career with all the songs that have led her to the place she holds in the world of music, both here in Spain and outside our borders.
From Monday the 8th, Flamenco will play the starring role in the SABATINI GARDENS, with Estrella Morente, Raimundo Amador, Jorge Pardo, Eva La Yerbabuena, Tamara y Moncho, Gerardo Núñez, Vanesa Martín, Arcangel y José Antonio, India Martínez, Pastora Soler and José Mercé, amongst others. This will be followed by a Classical Ballet show on ice: Cinderella, playing from the 23rd of July to the 4th of August for family audiences of all ages.

As well as flamenco in the Sabatini Gardens, there will be a special place for Zarzuela - the Spanish operetta genre par excellence, and this year, under the stage management of Jesús Castejón, we will be able to enjoy ‘La Corte de Faraón’ (The Pharaoh’s Court). To conclude, the Ópera Cómica de Madrid will present ‘Viva la ópera’ (Long live the opera), with music by Donizetti.
The ‘Veranos de la Villa’ programme also brings together the events generated by spaces such as MATADERO, CENTRO CENTRO, or CONDE DUQUE. At Matadero the second edition of the Fringe Festival will be developed and at Conde Duque, the Symphonic Band of Madrid will give some Concerts.
The ‘Veranos de la Villa’ programme also includes the Veranos en Vivo cycle (Live Summer cycle), with live music venues, the city’s theatre programme, the stage proposal for the Veranos del Galileo (Galileo’s Summer) this year called ‘La Esmeralda de Kapurthala’ (The emerald of Kapurthala), Titirilandia, the puppet festival in the Retiro Park, the programming by the Olivar de Castillejo Foundation and the summer outdoor cinema ‘Fescinal’ located in the Parque de la Bombilla.
